Heat Treating, Plating and Secondary Operations Not every screw machine part can be made complete on a primary machine. That’s why Curtis Screw incorporates an array of secondary and finishing operations. These include gun-drilling, centerless and through-feed grinding, honing, heat-treating and plating processes, to name just a few. Deep gun drilling is handled by Phillips and Dehoff drilling machines. Ghiringhelli, Micron and Cincinnati are used for centerlesss grinding. Imoberdorf and Wirth-Gruffat are used for rotary processing. Parts deburing is accomplished with Surftran Thermal and Chemtool electro-chemical deburring systems.
